The History Of City...

LMCFC is one of the oldest running football clubs in the Northern NSW region. Founded in 1912 the club has a strong history and solid reputation for developing, fostering, and producing local players. LMCFC is an incorporated not for profit sporting club run by a committee of local volunteers governed by the club’s constitution.

In 1912 the club was one entity known as ‘Boolaroo Soccer Football Club’ established by a local group of Scottish miners in the area.

Since that time the Senior and Junior Club were formed and operated as separate entities. In 2023, both clubs unanimously voted to an amalgamation of the Community and Premier Football programmes.

The Dick Herbert Pavilion was opened in 1962 and has seen several large-scale events over the past 60 years. The Club has been able to host high-profile matches including a Socceroos qualifier against Fiji and friendly games against English Premier League sides such as Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

In 2024 plans have been developed to restore the facilities at Macquarie Field to once again provide a venue suitable to host significant sporting events for the region.

LMCFC now competes in both the Northern NSW Football National Premier League and Newcastle Zone Football competitions. The club now includes male and female players from U6 to All-Age; over 500 players and 90 coaching staff. Providing a football experience from mini-roos to semi-professional.
